I’d like to place an advertising column on the right side of my homepage. Currently the homepage displays a left sidebar menu, and all blog posts shown in “default layout”.

I was wondering if this is possible within the Flashlight theme, and if so, how would I do such a thing? I’m running WordPress 3.3.1 and Flashlight 1.4. The website is at http://brainbandits.com. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Best,

    G

    Hi G,

You definitely can. The page you are using for the blog and homepage has a panel called Layout Options on the right hand side of the page editor. The second option is “Do you want to display a sidebar?” and you will select the “Yes display right sidebar” option.

Now you can go to Widgets and add widgets to your Sidebar Blog to show whatever you would like. For some generic ads, you could use the Text widget and put in the html for images.

Hi, I have done exactly what you said Devin and everything moves to the right sidebar and overlays itself, and I am without a left sidebar (which is now in the right sidebar under the Google ads and under or overlaid on the amazon ads)! I have put a support question in about this (no reply so far) but interesting to see that I have done just what you said ….
