    Hello,

    I put in my google analytics code through the flashlight theme tab in wp, but when I am not registering any hits, even when I visit the page myself. When I registered the website on google analytics, it gave me some additional code to add to my pages but I assumed the theme already took care of that.

    What should I do to get it to work?

    Thanks,

    Maks

    Hi makswilde!

    You should be adding in the entire script that google gives you and not just the ID number of your analtyics.

    Cheers!

    I tried that too, I pasted all of this into the Flashlight Google Analytics Tracking Code box

    <script>
    (function(i,s,o,g,r,a,m){i[‘GoogleAnalyticsObject’]=r;i[r]=i[r]||function(){
    (i[r].q=i[r].q||[]).push(arguments)},i[r].l=1*new Date();a=s.createElement(o),
    m=s.getElementsByTagName(o)[0];a.async=1;a.src=g;m.parentNode.insertBefore(a,m)
    })(window,document,’script’,’//www.google-analytics.com/analytics.js’,’ga’);

    ga(‘create’, ‘mycodenumberhere’, ‘makswilde.com’);
    ga(‘send’, ‘pageview’);

    </script>

    Still no go

    You can try using a different third party plugin specifically for Google analaytics but all the field does is add in whatever code you give it to your sites page.

    So if it isn’t getting recorded then there is an issue with the code.

    You could even hard code it into the footer.php file if you wanted but using another plugin specifically for it will be a bit easier.
