    Hi,

google maps api was working when using enfold main theme version 3.5,
with both maps plugin I am using.
When I downloaded the enfold child theme, it stopped working.
I updated parent theme to current version, I added the recommended line
to my child themes function.php, still not working.

    What is the latest recommodation?
    Many thanks for your help

    Hey ewos,

Please remove any modifications made to the functions.php to make the maps work and delete all API key’s from your google account.

Try the below API key in the theme options for testing purpose and let us know if this works for you.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

    Hi Vinay,

    thanks for your fast reply.
I made the changes, and it does not work.
    Removed the code from functions.php,
    deleted the plugins API Data,
and inserted into the theme options your API.
    Java Console tells me:
“Google Maps API error: MissingKeyMapError https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#missing-key-map-error”js:34:391

“Google Maps API warning: NoApiKeys https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/error-messages#no-api-keys”util.js:208:12
    Attached Admin account for you.
Also disabled one of the two maps plugins, still the same problem.

    Update:
Got it working with a new Google Maps API + entering the API both in Plugin and Theme,
but only with all referrers allowed.
The moment I restrict the API to my domain.com/*, it stops working.

    Hi!

As long as it works, leave it open.
It seems to be something related to your domain or how you add the domain ( or the API does not get updated fast ).
As long as it works, leave it open.

Let us know if we can do anything else for you

    Regards,
    Basilis

    hm,
open API without referrer so that every can use my API Quota does not sound like a good idea to me.

As an alternative I found openstreetmap plugin.
Unfortunately, it disables the Enfold Layer Editor in posts, but not in pages. However OSM works fine with Avada.

Is it possible to get a solution from you for the posts layer editor and OSM to work, or better to switch theme?
    Maps are important to me.

    Many thanks to you!

    Hi,

    1. Delete all old API key’s from your google account.
    2. Disable caching plugin on your site which will load old API key.
    3. Create a new API key and make sure to add you domain name in the below format *IMPORTANT

    *.domain.com/*

    4. Delete all google map elements from the page that was built using ALB and re-create the elements.

Everything should work fine. If you still have any issue post your google credentials and working WP login details so we can take a closer look.

    Best regards,
    Vinay
