This has me at a complete loss. Starting about a month ago, all of the SEO work I had done on page titles, products, categories, etc. stopped showing up in Google. I am currently on Replete version 1.4.1 and WordPress SEO version 1.4.7. I’ll refer to this particular website as #1.
The strange thing is, I also run another website/online store (I’ll refer to this one as website #2) using Replete and WordPress SEO…with the same exact settings as the website #1 above…but all of the SEO work IS showing up in Google for website #2.
I have been making various changes to website #1 inside of WordPress SEO…waiting for 3-4 days to see if Google grabs the new info, if it doesn’t, I make more changes…wait 3-4 days, etc…
It would be greatly appreciated if somebody could perhaps shed some insight. I am willing to provide credentials if somebody would like to investigate…I’m at my wits end on this one.
Thanks in advance!May 31, 2013 at 9:38 pm #121941
Yeah…it would probably help if I provide an address. :)June 1, 2013 at 8:54 am #121942
Personally I couldn’t find any problem with the meta tags (eg a robot nofollow meta tag, etc. which can block web spiders and search engines). Maybe try to use the Google Webmaster tools and submit your sitemap.xml file. Google then often starts to re-index your webpages.June 1, 2013 at 2:03 pm #121943
Thanks, Dude. Now I don’t feel like I’ve lost my mind quite so much on this one. I have re-submitted the sitemap a few times over the past few weeks, still no change. Could this be a Penguin issue? I have heard (though not confirmed) that Google has recently been side-stepping SEO work which has been put in place and will populate search results with what they feel is pertinent for the page.June 2, 2013 at 8:02 am #121944
Maybe yes – I’m not sure if there’s a simple way to test if your website got hit by google penguin but I checked the page rank and it’s 0/10 which means that google didn’t generate a page rank yet or that they banned your website ( http://www.checkpagerank.net/ ).June 4, 2013 at 2:00 pm #121945
