    Hi! What an awesome theme and support forum – I’m impressed! I have a few questions for you regarding the Slider & lightbox:

    – Is there a way that I can set the homepage slider to auto-rotate, but keep the rest of the sliders (namely the grid of thumbnails from the portfolio view) to just be static images and not auto-rotate? The only place I want to really use the slider functionality is on the homepage.

    – Like some others on the support forum, I’ve had trouble getting the lightbox to display an image caption or description. I can send you admin logins to my site if need be.

    – Is there any way to assign a custom thumbnail image to a portfolio post without including that image in the lightbox gallery? Perhaps there’s a way that I can set things up so that the first featured image assigned to a portfolio post is only displayed on a portfolio page, and is not included in the lightbox gallery?

    – If i wanted to modify the layout of the lightbox, where would I find the corresponding CSS file? Is the lightbox part of prettyphoto or is that just related to the slider? I guess I’m a bit confused about what is what.

    – I’ve gone through the related threads on this support forum, but I’m still having trouble getting the Navigation text to display a hover state (just a color change in this case.) I tried to solve this problem on my own, before reading this forum, so it’s possible that I’ve already done the damage, but as a few other customers had trouble with this same issue, I thought I’d pose the question here.

    BONUS QUESTION! (I totally understand if this is outside the scope of what you’d help me resolve…): Is there any way that a user could click on an image in the homepage slider and have it open a lightbox gallery of images that are distinct from the images in the slider itself? I would like to feature 4 distinct projects – one image from each – for my homepage slider… if a user clicks on the image from Project A, I would like project A’s gallery to appear in the lightbox, not the other images in the slider. Please point me in the right direction if possible! THANK YOU!

    Can you post the site URL and I’ll look into it?

    #40346 – but I’ve got the descriptions working so just other questions remain unresolved. THANKS!

    Can you please help me with something simple. I’d like to have a gallery just like this site,

    I installed the nextgen plugin but cant get the title in and the product info. Could it have been from when I deleted the code to show the page title? Here is my site, Please help. Thanks in advance, you guys have been a great help.

    which threme are you using? Display? Maybe you can use the inbuild portfolio. If you want to add titles + descriptions to your nextgen gallery you can follow this tutorial: (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -nextgen-gallery-thumbnails/

    Yes I’m using Display. I just figured out how to use the default setup. This is what we have so far

    Only thing is when I click on the read more link I would like the page to look like this; which is the full width display, right now its under portfolio and would like to remove the options, leave reply, uncategorized, comment, and the date. Thanks for your help.

    By the way I’m planning on buying another template and wanted to know if the setup of all your themes are similar to Display?

    Please help with the above question soon, we’re getting weird people commenting in the reply box/ Thanks.

    to remove the “uncat. and comments meta info open up single.php and delete following code:

    <div class="date">
    <span class='day'><?php the_time('d') ?></span>
    <span class='month'><?php the_time('M') ?></span>
    <span class='year'><?php the_time('Y') ?></span>
    </div><!-- end date -->
    <h2><a href="<?php echo get_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link: <?php the_title(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2>

    <div class='post_data'>
    <span class='categories'><?php the_category(', ') ?><?php edit_post_link('Edit', ', ', ''); ?></span>
    <span class='author'><?php comments_popup_link('No Comments', '1 Comment', '% Comments'); ?></span>
    </div><!--end post data-->

    To remove the comment option delete following code in single.php:

    <div class='entry commententry'>
    <?php comments_template(); ?>

    Thank you very much, that worked. One other thing, how do I link the images and the read more link from products page ( ) to a different page or url?

    open up template_portfolio.php and replace:

    <a href="<?php echo get_permalink(); ?>" class="more-link">Read more</a>

    <a href="<?php if (get_post_meta($post->ID, 'url', true)) {echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'url', true);} else { echo get_permalink(); } ?>" class="more-link">Read more</a>

    Afterwards you need to set post meta fields in all your portfolio posts. Call the fields “url” and type in the websites’ adresses or page/post urls as values.

    I’m sorry but what and where is a Post Meta Field? Thanks in advance.

    have a look at this tutorial: (Purchase code hidden if logged out) -fields – it’s written by Kriesi.

    Thanks but that only changed the read more link. I needed the product image to also reroute to a different page. I also noticed that the title is a link to a dedicated page. I’d like to change that too or disable link capability. If you visit my products page ( ), I created a page for each of those products. All click-able links( read more, image, title) for each product should direct me to the dedicated page. Please advise on what I should do next. I really appreciate your help.

    Oh and any idea why the image on this page is showing only half of it?

    to link the images to your page open up template_portfolio.php. Replace:

    $preview = kriesi_build_image(array('url'=>$preview,
    'height'=> '124',
    'width'=> '280',

    $link = true;
    $link_url = get_post_meta($post->ID, 'url', true);

    $preview = kriesi_build_image(array('url'=>$preview,
    'height'=> '124',
    'width'=> '280',

    The archive page shows only the excerpt of your post. If you want to show the full post content open up archive.php and replace:

    Hey Dude,

    Sorry but the titles on my products page are still directing to its own page instead of the same link as the read more and the image. How can I make the title not be able to link to another page? Thanks.

    Here’s a reference to the above question to a site I found.

    Their Portfolio and mainpage section titles such as dutton’s parlour, portfolio, custom framing is not clickable. Please provide me with the codes at your earliest convenience. Thank you.

    Can you create me an admin account and send me the login details to: (Email address hidden if logged out) – I’ll look into it :)

    Regarding the question above:

    “Is there a way that I can set the homepage slider to auto-rotate, but keep the rest of the sliders (namely the grid of thumbnails from the portfolio view) to just be static images and not auto-rotate? The only place I want to really use the slider functionality is on the homepage.”

    It looks like she has this working on her site. Can you talk me through it? I need the homepage to be the only rotating gallery. I’m using the Habitat theme.
