Hi – On every blog post I post at least one picture. In the last day I have noticed that if you click on a picture in a post, the magnifying glass icon appears then the screen goes dark with a small empty white box appearing and no picture. Before the picture used to come up larger. Now once you click on an image and you get the dark screen with the empty white box, there is no back button, there is no way to go back to the blog post or any other part of the blog. I have realised that the only way to get off this screen is to refresh or close the window. But I know my readers are just closing the window and leaving. Which of course is a big problem.
Any help, advice, how to rectify this would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.April 9, 2011 at 12:34 pm #43773
This could be a JS conflict or a problem with the image.
Can you post the site URL?

Hi – the site is
Unlikely to be a problem with the image as it’s happening with ALL the images and it never used to. The problem isn’t with an isolated image or 2.
Many thanks.April 10, 2011 at 12:15 pm #43775
we released an update for Habitat some weeks ago (you can download it @themeforest.net). If you don’t want to update (because of major customizations, etc.) you can just replace the lightbox files. Please refer to this thread: http://www.kriesi.at/support/topic/wp-31-breaks-lightbox for more information.April 10, 2011 at 3:48 pm #43776
Where do I find the update on themeforest? Do I have to re-download the entire theme? Also in future how can I find out about updates?
Thanks.April 10, 2011 at 5:08 pm #43777
Login with the account you used to purchase the theme. Then click on “My account” button located on the top. Afterwards click on “Downloads”. You’ll have to download all theme files again (however the zip package is not huge, only some mb). Kriesi usually releases update messages via twitter: http://twitter.com/KriesiApril 17, 2011 at 5:59 pm #43778
I am experiencing something similar to what “NTV” describes here, but different theme (I am using CleanCut).
However, unlike NTV’s case (that was fixed with an update of the theme) I think this problem is all my dumb fault as I was trying to remove the magnifying glass hover effect, and modified some code (at 3AM!) a few days ago. I can’t even remember how I got there, or which files I modified, I was typing in my sleep!! :-(
I guess I could just load the original files from the theme, but I was hoping I wouldn’t have to re-do other modifications I have made here and there… Could you please point me in the right direction? An example of the problem can be seen here: dev.stthomastheapostle.org/preschool
Thanks for all your help!April 18, 2011 at 5:38 am #43779
no it’s not your fault but you need to update the lightbox files. WP Version 3.1 + uses a newver jquery version which breaks old versions of the prettyphoto lightbox. You can download the updated CleanCut theme files @themeforest. If you don’t want to update (because of major customizations, etc.) all files you can just replace the lightbox files (navigate to the js folder and replace the “old” prettyphoto folder with the new one from your themeforest download package).
