I'm having trouble getting the home page to show the correct static page - on this site:
http://incidentmc.com/
The site is currently in maintenance mode (client would like it to be right before it goes public), so you won't be able to view it without login details.
Here's what I've tried:
WP SETTINGS only
Editing the general WP settings to have 'Home' as my static page, and 'News' as my blog page (no theme settings changed).
HOME: Latest posts
NEWS: Latest posts
THEME SETTINGS only
Editing only the Broadscope settings to do the same as above (WP settings back to default).
HOME shows: an error just below the header -
Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Query::is_attachment() in /var/www/incidentmc.com/wp-content/themes/broadscope/includes/featured-images-slideshow.php on line 96
NEWS shows: same error as above
BOTH WP & THEME OPTIONS
Changing both WP & Theme settings to make 'Home' as my static page, and 'News' as my blog page
HOME shows: Latest posts
NEWS shows: Latest posts
NEITHER
Default setting for WP ('Latest Blog Posts') and Theme (Frontpage settings - no page selected)
HOME shows: Latest posts
NEWS shows: Blank page.
I tried deactivating all plugins (including maintenance mode), but that doesn't seem to make any difference either.
Am I missing something really obvious here?

Create a new thread and tell me what problems you are encountering and what you want to know. 
There is no step 3 :)
