The header image on our front page is displaying quite soft. It is an uncompressed PNG. We have tried to set the width to that of the template but don’t know this figure, so there may well be some rescaling happening.
What’s the best practice for getting header images to display as sharply as poss?
Many thanks again,
The main slideshow images are set to 930x340px (or whatever the height of the image is when scaled to the 930px width) so if its a different size than that it could be getting compressed or stretched slightly.
So setting your image size to exactyl 930×340 or modifying the featured image size to a different height if need be would be the best route using something like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/
