resolvedHi, would just like to know how to change text colors for the first menu and submit news link - would like them grey with black mouse over. I'm assuming it depends on what display skin i am using which is 'light' and i have added a white background - hence the required change in colors.

Looks like you've already got the grey standard link sorted out, for the black text on mouseover edit /css/style1.css (line 47) from this:
.nav .current a, .nav li a:hover, .nav .currentli_item a{
color:#fff;
}to this:
.nav .current a, .nav li a:hover, .nav .currentli_item a{
color:#000;
