Since I'm new at this I want to make sure we are on same page please look at this and let me know. Because I want to keep like Home add about and keep contact and remove the rest on the top line. The one in red circle is ok

So you want to remove or change the menu (links)? Create two menus (go to Appearance > Menus to create custom menus). The first one (top menu) must be called "First" and the second one (big menu tabs) must be called "Second". Now add your menu items to one or both menus and save them.
