When a page in the main menu is clicked, by default it will be highlighted. However, when clicking sub-pages, the top title doesn’t get highlighted anymore.

Basically, I have a page with 5 sub-pages. I would like the main title to highlight, even when sub-pages are selected. Is this possible by adding custom code?

    Thank you,

    Hi Poirot,

It should be doable with .current_page_ancestor { } but to give you the exact css I would have to look at the site live.

    Hi all,

Thank you all for your support and excuses for my late reply. I’ve been trying to get it work, without result.

I guess the problem is the “parent” is a custom menu item (link), while the “children” are pages. The “parent” links to the first sub-page.

(If you question why I’ve chosen this configuration, please read PS)

So, basically, only when the parent or first sub-page is clicked, I get a highlight.

    Best regards,

PS: I wanted the parent to link directly to the first sub-page. If the parent was a regular page, and not a custom link, that would probably not be possible.

yes, you maybe right, Poirot. In my case, the parent is indeed a (empty) page, which I have redirected with this plugin to the child page. And in this case, it works as I’ve described above.

    Hi colorit2,

I’ve substituted the parent custom-link by a page, redirected by the plugin you’ve mentioned. Then, I added the 3 paragraphs to my custom css, only replacing my color code. Still, no result. Any idea?

Correction: It’s working. Turns out there was a “}” missing in my code… The devil is in the details :)

    Thanks again!

    Glad it is fixed. :)
