    I was migrating over the website today and ran into all kinds of issues. Have fixed everything but the home page. It is not pulling in any of the “Main Page” attributes nor the “Slideshow”. I have temporarily set it up to use a static page but I want to use the attributes I set up originally. I don’t know how to fix this.

    Basically there was a database issue, I upgraded to 3.4 and there a slug issue.

    Please help. I need to finish this project asap.

    Thank You,

    Justine

    I REALLY need some help with this! Please let me know what I need to do to fix the home page so it brings in the banner and the content from the “CleanCut Options” panel. I don’t want to wait too long to fix this and really need to know how to do this.

    Thank You,

    Hi Justine,

    Can you give us a little bit more information on what happened with the original home page. Could you also re-set the home page to use the one created by the theme options so that we can see whats happening there.

    Regards,

    Devin

    Devin,

    Basically I moved over the .htaccess file and index.php file to launch the site. Before I did this I thought it might be a good idea to upgrade to 3.4. I am not sure if that caused the issue or not. Unfortunately I made a rookie mistake and didn’t make a backup :( Before I upgraded it was working great! Do you think this caused the issue?

    I am more than happy to switch back over the home page as long as I have a contact person’s information to know who is looking at it and keep communications going while they are looking into it. This site is live and I want to make sure it is addressed quickly without a lot of down time with the bad page. How do I switch back out of the static home page.

    My contact information is 530-388-0824 and (Email address hidden if logged out)

    I appreciate the help and quick response this morning.

    Hi Justine,

    I don’t know what settings you changed to make the home page a static one but it might be in the wordpress admin Settings>Reading>Front page displays. Make sure this option is set to “Your latest posts.

    If you did something else (in the htaccess file or other) to have the home page be set to what it is now you’ll need to change that as well.

    I think what might have happened is somehow the front page settings were just reset and need to be redone from the theme options>Mainpage Options.

    Devin

    Ok I will try that and see what happens. Can you take a look in about 5 minutes?

    Thank you!

    Devin,

    Here’s the code in the .htaccess file

    # BEGIN WordPress

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>

    RewriteEngine On

    RewriteBase /

    RewriteRule ^index.php$ – [L]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d

    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]

    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    I have updated the homepage to display and it is blank :(

    What do you think?

    I reset the options for the “Mainpage Options” and nothing displayed. I think there is a disconnect. I didn’t change the .htaccess file but I did have someone help trouble shoot the other day and not sure if he changed anything in this file. Please look and let me know what you think

    :)

    I appreciate the help :D

    Hi Justine,

    You need to re-build your page in the Theme Settings under Mainpage Options. Please check those settings and make sure everything is filled in to display content.

    Still need help with this please :D

    What kind of disconnect should i look for since the information for the home page and banner are physically visible in the admin area? Should I look in the database tables? I did notice at one point before I launched I had 11 pages and then when I launched I had 12. I currentlly have 12 because of the static page I created. Please let me know I really need to fix this.

    Thank You,

    I found under the directory wp-content the index.php file was missing. Would these cause the home page display issue I am having? I created a new one with the following code:

    <?php

    // Silence is golden

    ?>

    I changed the “Reading” option to read from the dynamic posts but it didn’t work.

    What do you think?

    Hi Justine,

    I’m not sure how you have everything set up at this point. It would be a bit easier if you can just create a temporary admin account for me and send me the details so I can log in and take a look first hand.

    You can send the information to my email at DevinVinson (at) gmail.com. Make sure to include a link to this topic so that my spam filter doesn’t grab it :)

    Great! Thanks! Sending now!

    Hi Justine,

    I’m not quite sure how, but your themes index.php was the complete incorrect file. I replace it with the default file and the front page is displaying correctly now and you can edit it like normal.

    The file you were using as the front page was renamed to Temp Home as well just in case having no title was causing an issue.

    Devin
