    Hi – my website is called Stubstory.com and I’m trying to add an “upload your story” image which will be a hyperlink to a page on my blog called http://stubstory.com/send-us-your-stubstory/ I currently have 1 image doing this placed at the bottom right as an html link in the widgets area – but need a nice visual link at the top as well. The image I want to place is called ss_uploadbutton2.jpg and I’d like it at the top on the right (just under the search bar). Can you please tell me how to insert this image? I have pasted the code from the widget below if that helps.

    Thanks as also -looking forward to your reply

    <img

    style=”border: 0px solid ; width: 232px; height: 81px;” alt=””

    src=”http://stubstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/ss_uploadbutton2.jpg”>

    Hi mjpeter,

    Kindly open header.php and find this line of code:

    <h2 class="logo ie6fix <?php echo $logoclass; ?>"><a href="<?php echo get_settings('home'); ?>/"><?php echo $logo; ?></a></h2>

    Now, paste this code below the code above:

    <img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 232px; height: 81px;" alt="" src="http://stubstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/ss_uploadbutton2.jpg" class="upload_story" />

    Then, go to: wp-content/themes/newscast/style.css and add this code at the bottom:

    .upload_story {
    position: absolute;
    top: 60px;
    right: 30px;
    }

    Hope this helps. :)

    Regards,

    Ismael

    Hey Ismael – thanks for the reply. I tried your instructions which place the image where I want it BUT it doesn’t link to my http://stubstory.com/send-us-your-stubstory/ page which Is what I am trying to accomplish. Can you please help me modify your instruction so that people will be able to click the “Upload” button and go to the page where they can share their stories with us?

    Thanks

    Matt

    Hi Matt,

    Try this:

    <a href="http://stubstory.com/send-us-your-stubstory/"><img style="border: 0px solid ; width: 232px; height: 81px;" alt="" src="http://stubstory.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/05/ss_uploadbutton2.jpg" class="upload_story" /></a>

    Regards,

    Mya

    Hey Mya

    I put this code in the header.php file – in the location Ismael instructed me to. When I do the image shows up, however you can’t click it, the mouse doesn’t change – nothing. This code is not creating the hyperlink to the send-us-your-story page I need. And idea why – please help.

    Thanks

    Matt

    This may be overkill – but here’s the contents of the header.php fill WITH your suggested code in it (maybe I’m doing something wrong?)

    Hi!

    Try to use the code Ismael posted above and add following code to style.css:

    .upload_story{
    z-index: 30;
    }

    Best regards,

    Peter
