    Hi – I’m using the Corona template and I’m really impressed with it so far. However, I want to remove the footer from the front page but keep it active on all the other pages. I’m still using a modified version of the FrontPage_Example dynamic template as my front page.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hey,

    you can use the is_home conditional tag: http://codex.wordpress.org/Conditional_Tags to remove content from the frontpage/home page. I.e. you can replace following code in footer.php:

    <!-- ####### FOOTER CONTAINER ####### -->

    with:

    <?php if (!is_home() || !is_front_page()) { ?>
    <!-- ####### FOOTER CONTAINER ####### -->

    and:

    <!-- ####### END FOOTER CONTAINER ####### -->

    with:

    <?php  } ?>
    <!-- ####### END FOOTER CONTAINER ####### -->

    Is there a way to collapse the footer? Because it is lists all the pages, it is extremely long.

    Hey,

    no it’s not possible out of the box. However you can integrate a jquery script which can do this for you.

    I’ve just managed to dig this post up, and it’s really helpful. Thanks. I just have one follow-up question:

    If I want to disable the footer for the front page, and another page as well – lets say, page ID 381, how would the code change?

    I’m no good at coding unfortunately so even the conditional tags entry you linked didn’t really help me modify the code provided.

    You can use following code:

    <?php if (!is_home() || !is_front_page() || is_page('381')) { ?>

    You can change id 381 to any other value of course. If you’d like to add additional pages just add || is_page(‘id’) to this code and instead of “id” enter a value.

    Why would this not work in the abundance theme to remove the footer from the home page and page 638 (which happens to be the frontpage)?

    <?php if (!is_home() || !is_front_page() || is_page('638')) { ?>

    gopcobra,

    You’re stating: If it’s not the homepage and not the frontpage or Page 638 (the homepage) => display footer. I haven’t checked for myself but I think you can leave the last one out. Again, I haven’t checked so I could be wrong.

    <?php if (!is_home() || !is_front_page()) { ?>

    Hi Chris, Please check out my website. I have added a splash page, and I need to remove the footer from http://tisei.swiftcurrenttest1.com/frontpage/

    My current code to remove the footer is:

    <?php if (!is_home() || !is_front_page() || !is_page(‘638′)) { ?>

    And it is not working to remove the footer from the page named frontpage and numbered 638.

    Any help you can be to me in removing the footer from this page would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks, Ryan

    Can anyone assist me with the above issue? Thanks, Ryan

    Hey,

    I think in this case you need to use an AND operator and not an OR – the reason is that the frontpage returns true for !is_home(). I’d try:

    <?php if (!is_home() && !is_front_page() && !is_page('638')) { ?>

    Dude said , “Hey, no it’s not possible out of the box. However you can integrate a jquery script which can do this for you.” What is the jquery script?

    You can have a look at tutorials like: http://acrisdesign.com/2010/03/jquery-tutorial-toggle-effect-on-hoverclick/ – it will help you to implement the toggle effect.
