How can I place my 120x600 image banner ads on my right sidebar?

I'm not talking about adsense code, but an ad from a private ad sponsor.

Also, how can I place a banner ad inside my header next to my logo?

I would use a text widget with following code:

<img src="my-ad.png" style="border:none;background:none; alt="my-ad" title="my-ad" />
