How do I create a Static Page for the Home Page

Hi -

I just bought Habitat and wanted to create a static home page like in the Habitat Live Demo (like the "Static Homepage" under Home in navigation with the balloons in the slider").

I tried to follow the directions to set this up in the Reading Settings and this option is not there.

Also, I want the slider photos to remain as the one's I have chosen once I have added them to the slider. I am assuming they will stay the same and not change when the site updated?

Hey,
1) Please try to upload all WP files again and deactivate ALL plugins. You should see following options under Settings > Reading:

There's no other way to set a static homepage (without redirections).

2) The images will remain as long as you don't change them in your page editor (featured image option).
