    Hello,

    I have created a full width template to display portfolio items which works very well.

    now I would like to change the featured image size from 940×350 to 940×150 and remove the lightbox feature from the image (click on image should have no effect)

    I’m not quite sure if I will keep the featured image in the full portfolio post, so maybe as alternative to the above you could tell me how to remove it completely.

    many thanks,

    Vernon

    1) In functions.php replace

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] 	= array('width'=>940, 'height'=>350);		// big images for fullsize pages and fullsize 2D & 3D slider

    with

    $avia_config['imgSize']['featured'] 	= array('width'=>940, 'height'=>150);		// big images for fullsize pages and fullsize 2D & 3D slider

    and regenerate the thumbnails: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    2) You can use the featured image options to remove the lightbox link: http://www.clipular.com/c?9834138=Q68RSSvJOeH7tkzCb6w5EbJDqz8&f=.png

    3) You can remove the image with following code modification. Open up wp-contentthemesbrightboxincludesloop-index.php and replace

    echo $slider->display_small('page', $force_small_slider);

    with

    if(get_post_type() != 'portfolio') echo $slider->display_small('page', $force_small_slider);

    Hi Dude,

    ich probiere mal auf deutsch, geht, glaube ich, besser :)

    zu #1

    die änderung würde dann auf alle featured images greifen, egal ob für portfolio oder sonstige posts wo ein featured image hinzugefügt wird, oder? die 150px bräuchte ich nur für portfolio item. hierzu könnte ich mit #3 option selbst ein passendes bild hochladen, dazu siehe weiter unten unter #3

    zu #2

    das habe ich auch probiert, funktioniert soweit ganz gut, allerdings wird man nicht mehr zum portfolio post geführt, wenn man von home übersicht auf das 220×125 vorschau thumb klickt.nur noch der

    zu #3

    die code änderung hat leider keine auswirkung. (cache geleert, neustart browser)

    der featured container ist immer noch da.

    danke :)

    ich habs…

    vor lauter bäume den wald nich gesehen oder so :)

    bei #3 einfach in der dynamic template das slideshow element entfernen…..

    somit haben sich #1 und #2 auch erledigt.

    trotzdem danke für die mühe.

    Hi,

    The best way to go about it, is to first install the Simple Image Sizes plugin ( http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/simple-image-sizes/ ). The plugin will give you complete control over images: setting constraints for specific locations including the portfolio images. The only way to get the size you want will be through using a hard crop (since you want a specific height and a specific width. Be aware that a hard crop will crop anything above 940×150. So you need to make sure that every image you upload is at least 940px wide and at least 150px tall. Otherwise the images will come out butt ugly.

    Changing the dimensions of images using the plugin does NOT automatically change all the images already uploaded but will only affect new uploads. To change the sizes of images already uploaded, you will need to use the Regenerator – also a part of the Simple Image Sizes and found on the bottom of Settings > Media.If the regenerator wont work (which it doesn’t sometimes due to low wordpress memory), just delete your portfolio images and upload them again.

    So. lets look here (install plugin first)

    Step 1) http://i.imgur.com/0ZGt4bf.png

    Step 2) http://i.imgur.com/GGL0V1z.png

    Remember, that you have one image in portfolio for the featured image thumbnail, and then a second image which you add as the main portfolio image (940×150). So open Portfolio Item > Add New , then add an Image element then add the image, and if your image is at least 940 px or more in width and 150px or more in height you will be given an option to select the size we just created in Steps 1 and 2 above (look here -> http://i.imgur.com/gbDDBI1.jpg ) And that’s it.

    Thanks,

    Nick
