Hello, I am using the Habitat theme and trying to create my home page to have a featured image in full width (which I have) and 3 columns beneath (with no sidebar). Similar to the Static Homepage in the Habitat Theme preview.
I keep reading things about template builders but cannot find anything of the sort in this theme.
I am completely new at this so if it means adding short codes or changing html, can you please be very specific?

Create a page and add featured images to it. Then add following code to the text editor:
[one_third]Content here.[/one_third] [one_third]Content here.[/one_third] [one_third last]Content here.[/one_third]Instead of "Content here." fill in the content of the columns. Afterwards go to "Settings > Reading and set this page as "static" front page. Habitat does not include a shortcode generator or template builder - only themes which are build on the new avia framework offer this features (Brightbox and newer themes except Flashlight).

Thank you for your very specific instructions. It worked perfectly.
Two more questions:
Is there a way to make the columns slightly wider?

I would like put an image into each column but I'm having trouble with the sizing. I uploaded a test image and set it to thumbnail size but it is still too large. What is a size that will fit into each column without being cut off? I would like it to be a square.
