    Hi,

    To remove like and tweet, just add this on your custom.css

    .tweets-count.minor-meta, .text-sep.tweets-count-sep, .like-count.minor-meta, .text-sep.comment-container-sep {
    display: none;
    }

    To add the Forum on the menu, go to Appearance > Menu then look for custom links, add the forum menu title and url.

    Regards,

    Ismael

    I used this code to remove those items as well but it keeps the backslash in front of the page now “/ posted in…”

    Hi ChrisMcDowell,

    Kindly open wp-contentthemeschoicesincludesloop-index.php and find this code block:

    <div class='post-meta-infos'>

    <?php

    if(comments_open() || get_comments_number())
    {
    echo "<span class='comment-container minor-meta'>";
    comments_popup_link(" <span>0 ".__('Comments','avia_framework')."</span>",
    " <span>1 ".__('Comment' ,'avia_framework')."</span>",
    " <span>% ".__('Comments','avia_framework')."</span>",'comments-link',
    __('Comments Off' ,'avia_framework'));
    echo "</span><span class='text-sep comment-container-sep'>/</span>";
    }

    echo '<div class="like-count minor-meta">';
    echo avia_facebook_like($id);
    echo '</div><span class="text-sep like-count-sep">/</span>';

    echo '<span class="tweets-count minor-meta">';
    echo avia_retweet($id);
    echo '</span><span class="text-sep tweets-count-sep">/</span>';

    and replace it with:

    <div class='post-meta-infos'>

    <?php

    if(comments_open() || get_comments_number())
    {
    echo "<span class='comment-container minor-meta'>";
    comments_popup_link(" <span>0 ".__('Comments','avia_framework')."</span>",
    " <span>1 ".__('Comment' ,'avia_framework')."</span>",
    " <span>% ".__('Comments','avia_framework')."</span>",'comments-link',
    __('Comments Off' ,'avia_framework'));
    echo "</span>";
    }

    Hope this helps. :)

    Hi Ismael, thanks for all your help on this. Im trying to put my blog/forum on my main nav menu and I’m not clear on the url to place in there. I have been doing blog posts for several months and want them to be accessible but they don’t seem to have a url extension that denotes a blog; i.e. http://www.dancinshoesdj.com/blog/____blog title___. Instead it’s just http://www.dancinshoesdj.com/___blog title___. So when I try to leave a url it either can’t find the page or it doesn’t direct to the blog. How can I fix that? Thanks again!

    Hi Mike,

    If you want to change the way the URL looks you’ll need to change your permalinks in Settings>Permalinks. This is a built part of wordpress and has some additional documentation here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks

    Thanks for the quick reply Devin. You guys rock. However, I’m not good with coding so i’m not sure I’m being clear. It’s not that I want to change the way the url looks because I like that it says the page name in the extension. I just don’t know why the “blog” menu doesn’t point to the actual blog roll. It says the page isn’t found. Currently when I click on a blog post it just has the blog name immediately after the website url, without any “page” indicator, i.e. “www.dancinshoesdj.com/___ title of blog post ____”… where I’d like it to be, “www.dancinshoesdj.com/blog/___ title of blog post ____”… so that all the blogs I’ve ever written can be listed in the “blog” nav menu. In the end I just want the blog menu link to point to the blogs I’ve been writing and are listed on the side bar… thanks again for your assistance!

    Yep, that would be part of the permalink settings. Its actually a two step process and you’ll need to modify a theme file just slightly.

    First open up includes>admin>register-portfolio.php and look for:

    'rewrite' => array('slug'=>$slugRule,'with_front'=>true),

    change the true to false so it reads:

    'rewrite' => array('slug'=>$slugRule,'with_front'=>false),

    Now save the file back on your server and then go to your wordpress admin Settings>Permalinks. Change the Custom Structure to:

    /blog/%postname%/

    Now save changes and that should do it. The first change in the theme files is so that the portfolio custom post type doesn’t start using ‘blog’ in front of its posts. So if you aren’t using the portfolio, you can just change the permalink structure.

    ok great I understand that. But what’s the parent folder(s) of “includes>admin>register-portfolio.php?” I can’t seem to find it… I was wondering now, is this something I can plug into the custom css file i’ve been using for alterations that will override the scripted files? Thanks.

    #92496

    The entire path would be wp-content > themes > corona > includes >admin > register-portfolio.php. You need to add these code modifications to register-portfolio.php because custom.css is a css file and it’s not intended for php code.

    ok thanks, I did all that (using a broadscope theme though) and am still getting an “error 404 nothing found” comment. It does show the archives and various blog topics toward the bottom of the page, which I can look through, but I was hoping that they’d be listed on this page similar to the RSS feed or something similar, with multiple pages to go through all posts to date. I’m using “post new” instead of posting in the portfolio section. Is that the right way to be posting? Here’s the link to the error message Im still getting… http://dancinshoesdj.com/blog

    Other than not listing the blogs I’ve done, everything else looks to be working correctly. Thanks again guys!

    You need to create a page in your site that you want the blog feed to be loaded into. Then in your Theme Options below Frontpage Settings where it says “And where do you want to display the Blog?” select that page. Then add that link to your main navigation.
