I need to edit the product page layout, is this possible to do through the CMS or do I need to edit files manually? if so, which ones?
I don’t need anything major, I just need to move some of the div elements (related etc) above cart elements so I can configure my page hierarchy.

I am really struggling on this, would be great to get some help on how to adjust the layout or where to look…March 18, 2012 at 7:19 am #67634
I think you need to modify the woocommerce templates in this case (plugins/woocommerce/templates). Some changes can be done in propulsionconfig-woocommerceconfig.php (and with custom code by using hooks: http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/codex/template-structure/ and http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/codex/extending/hooks/ )March 19, 2012 at 8:41 am #67635March 20, 2012 at 11:54 pm #67636March 28, 2012 at 8:26 am #67637
did not turn out well, need to revert to original files now and try and dig my way out of the mess :(March 28, 2012 at 1:14 pm #67638
I am still trying to get some help on this without screwing everything up.
* I was able to look at the config.php that you include in the theme and comment out some of the “add_actions” to remove parts of the product page like tabs etc which I don’t need.
* However what I really need to do (looks simple in HTML) but I can’t figure out how this puzzle all pieces together. Right now my page has my price, image up top and then my description comes under it. I am using a Gravity Forms plugin here so that pushes the description even further down the page and the user can’t see it. I really just want to move the ‘summary div’ up to where the price div is.
I took a screen shot here in Firebug to show you which div I want to move. Is this possible to do in the config.php file? if so, can you help me understand how?
Thanks a lot…March 28, 2012 at 4:17 pm #67639
I should also add to the above comment that all I really want to do is add the product description div above the price or below it, once in that other div…Maybe there is an easier way to insert it and I can hide the summary div?March 29, 2012 at 5:37 am #67640March 29, 2012 at 7:12 am #67641
Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that and it did something but not the desired result.
You can see from the screen shot below it moved the “<div class=”summary-main-content entry-content”>” out of the ‘Summary Div’ and above it but what I would like is
* Move the div “<div class=”summary-main-content entry-content”>” up to the “<div class=”alpha four units prev_image_container “>” right now it is stuck in the “<div class=”eight units”>” and that is screwing up with my layout. Ideally I would position the div above the “<div class=”price_container”>” I marked this in the screenshot…

I took a look through the config to see if I might be able to offer an additional bit of guidance but the WooCommerce integration is still out of my realm of expertise.
I’ll flag the thread for the other support crew to see if one of theme has some additional input.

Thanks for the support. Yesterday I played around with a lot of the hooks in your config.php trying different combinations of before’s and afters to see where it would land :) WHat I was able to do now which is not super ideal is move just the summary-main-content div before the single product and then use absolute positioning in CSS to put it where I want. It’s a bit of a messy hack as the structure is all messed up and not even sure if this affects other pages, so if anyone on the support crew had additional advice on how to do this cleaner it would be great to hear.

I’m not sure which hook will work in your case. A complete list can be found here: http://www.woothemes.com/woocommerce-docs/codex/extending/hooks/
I’d try to replace “woocommerce_before_single_product_summary” with other hooks like “woocommerce_after_add_to_cart_button” or “woocommerce_before_single_product”. I haven’t found a hook which affects the sidebar directly though…
