How to hide [caption][/caption] from my search results

Erm

Im getting caption content in my search results and I was wondering if it was possible to filter it out, I don't actually think this is a theme problem, more of a wordpress problem not sure to be fair

I was after some advice before I try to fix it and end up breaking it !! haha

When I search and its only when products are displayed in the search results I get the product and then the product [caption] [/caption] content so effectively getting 2 results the same, with messy code

is there anyway I can strip the code somehow via functions.php

Well that was easy !!

I copied and pasted some suggested code and it worked

add_filter('the_excerpt', 'remove_shortcode_from_excerpt');
function remove_shortcode_from_excerpt($excerpt) { if ( is_search() ) { $excerpt = strip_shortcodes( $excerpt ); } return $excerpt; }

Seems to have fixed the search results for me, dont know if its broke anything else yet :)
