If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
in my NEWSCAST theme, I have added within long posts or pages
<!--nextpage--> so that they should be splitted in several parts.
The text is splitted, yes, but I can only see the first part, but I haven’t access to the further parts, because it shows no pagination at the bottom of a post or a page.
I found in “framework” -> “helper_functions” a file pagination.php, obviously is this feature provided, but it doesn’t work, i.e. it shows no pagination, neither if it’s a post or a page.
Thanks a lot for any hint.
Kindly open: wp-contentthemesnewscastsingle.php and find this line of code:
<div class='entry' id="author-box">
above it paste this code:
<?php $args = array(
'before' => '<p>' . __('Pages:'),
'after' => '</p>',
'next_or_number' => 'number',
'nextpagelink' => __('Next page'),
'previouspagelink' => __('Previous page'),
'pagelink' => '%',
'echo' => 1 ); ?>
<?php wp_link_pages( $args ); ?>
Now, edit a specific post. In your content editor, you can see Visual and HTML, use HTML instead of visual. In your content paste in the
<!--nextpage--> to where you want the text to cut off. Update it and Check the Preview.
This specifically applies to posts only. For pages, add it in wp-contentthemesnewscastpage.php. Hope this helps. :)
That works fine and is exactly what I’ve meant. Thanks a lot, Ismael, for your help!
