How do I place my SSL seal icon in the footer (bottom) of my Abundance e-commerce template? I received the following instructions:
To install the QuickSSL Premium True Site Seal, simply add the following lines to each web page on which you want the True Site Seal to appear:
<!– GeoTrust QuickSSL [tm] Smart Icon tag. Do not edit. –>
<!– end GeoTrust Smart Icon tag –>
These instructions will retrieve your QuickSSL Premium registration data from the QuickSSL Premium registry server and cause the QuickSSL Premium Seal to be displayed on your web page. Remember, the web page on which you place this QuickSSL Premium Seal must use exactly the same domain that is in your QuickSSL Premium enrollment application. For instance, if the enrollment is for http://www.example.com, then the QuickSSL Premium registration is for that site, and does not include other fully qualified domains like www2.example.com.
This is what I did: I was in Dashboard and under Appearance I selected Editor and then Footer. In Footer I did paste the code lines for the SSL seal but nothing happens. What do I need to do?December 10, 2013 at 3:02 pm #198545
Can you post a link to your website please? I need to check the seal code and investigate the html code first hand.

You should be able to add a text widget to the Footer 1 widget (apperance>widgets) and then place that code into that widget. This will place into the footer without any editing of the theme files.

One more thing I need to let you know. After placing the code lines for the SSL seal and noticing that nothing happened I decided to delete the code lines and leave the footer as it was before. Please let me know if you need some other information.

See my previous comment. You should be able to just add the code into a widget that is in your footer column of choice.December 11, 2013 at 2:26 am #198795
I added the code into a widget column 1 of the footer in my website but nothing happens. All I can see is the title but not the seal icon.December 11, 2013 at 11:11 am #198940
There’s something wrong about your code. Please use this instead:
Add it on a Text Widget just like Devin said.

I used the code that you gave me in the previous post but this is not working. When I visit my website all I can see is the title that I put Geotrust Seal and below the title I don’t see any seal image/icon but if I pass the mouse below the title I see the small hand like if there is something there to click and when I click in the area a window opens showing the website profile but instead of showing my website details I see this message: Website identity NOT confirmed.

The script/code provided however isn’t valid html output.
You should check back with the source and get the correct html and source output.December 11, 2013 at 8:35 pm #199183
Ok, I’ll check back with them to get the correct html and source output.

The issue about the SSL seal icon is solved. This morning I contacted GeoTrust and they updated the site seal data base for the non www version of my domain. Thank you for helping me in adding the code using a text widget to the footer that was something new to me and thanks to you guys now I learned something new.
