I’m having major problems editing sidebars in Enfold beyond just dragging in the read-made widgets.
How, for example, can I put one of your buttons or iconboxes into a sidebar. I have no problem putting them into pages. But the sidebar doesn’t seem to be editable with the Avia Layout Builder as are pages and posts. I’ve tried putting in some html code into a custom widget area and running it as a custom sidebar — copying the code that successfully produces buttons and iconboxes for me on my homepage — but I couldn’t get it to work at all for the iconbox, and the button it produced was styled very differently than the page button (different font color and width then specified in my custom code for the page buttons).
Considerable frustration with this. I couldn’t find much documentation for editing sidebars in Enfold, and spent hours reading through support questions without any luck.
By the way I don’t know php at all, though I’m OK with html and css.
Thanks for any help. I love Enfold and this the second site I’m building with it, but I’m greatly perplexed in how to make the sidebars useable beyond the ready-made widgets that come with the theme.
Use the magic wand button in a Page to create the elements, then simply copy the shortcode produced and paste it the Widgets you want.
Thanks for giving me the key, which is that I just need to produce the button on a page (using the usual Avia Layout Builder) and then copy the code for it into a text widget within a custom widget area. Works fine.
