    Currently I’m still editing the theme and fine-tuning it but I was wondering, for my portfolio I only need a few posts (to show a case-study i.e.) to have a Read More link but by default every post in the Portfolio category shows the Read More link. How can I add/remove that link?

    You can find the link to my site on the left (click my name).

    Sure, you need to create a custom field called “link” and add “true” here if you want a Read More button for that post.

    Next you need to open up template_portfolio.php and find this line:

    <a href="<?php echo get_permalink(); ?>" class="more-link">Read more</a>

    Replace it with:

    <?php if ( get_post_meta($post->ID, 'link', true) ) { ?><a href="<?php echo get_permalink(); ?>" class="more-link">Read more</a><?php } ?>

    Thanks James but I want to get rid of the Read More links for certain posts. This is the same for the homepage. Also, since the site is intended for Dutch visitors only, is it possible to rename the Read More link on all pages to something else?

    EDIT: Setting the True parameter to False worked but it affected the entire portfolio page. Is it possible to show the Read More link on seperate Portfolio posts?

    The code I posted will only display the Read More if there is a custom field called “link” set for the Portfolio page.

    If you want to change the Ream More text, just replace the text in the code I provided.

    If this isn’t what you want it to do, let me know.

    I would like to revive this topic. Would you mind elaborating a bit on how to:

    “create a custom field called “link” and add “true” here if you want a Read More button for that post. “

    I understand the concept.. Is there code that I add somewhere else to create this custom field before I change the code in Portfolio.php?

    Also how do I give an individual post the custom field of true of false once I create the portfolio item?

    Thanks guys!

    I just realized this is the “Display” forum not Avisio. Sorry! I assume the same technique applies to Avisio though as that is what I am working with..
