    Hi I was wondering how to remove the text “Archive for category” in a category page: for example on my site http://stockmusicboutique.com/background

    Since all my menus are organized by category.

    My previous theme was avisio and I was able to remove the text from the archive.php file but I can’t seem to find the text to remove in the abundance theme.

    ps: also the text on the right of the post too (comments, date, category, author):

    For example

    26 Feb 2011

    0 Comments

    in Background

    by James

    Many Thanks

    pps: And sorry 1 one more question and you’ll never hear from me again! :) in the same page: http://stockmusicboutique.com/background – there’s a menu “music library” I’ve put this as a mega- menu but the links don’t seem to work if I uncheck the mega – menu then they do work. I thought it might be a plugin getting in the way so I tried de-activating them all but menu still not responding:

    Thank you very much.

    Hi,

    To remove the “Archive for category:” from Abundance you can open up Abundance > Framework > Php > function-set-avia-frontend.php.

    Here you can find

    $output = __('Archive for category: ','avia_framework').single_cat_title('',false);

    Change this to

    $output = __('','avia_framework').single_cat_title('',false);

    To remove the info at the side of a post you can add this to your custom.css :

    .blog-meta {
    display: none;
    }

    #top .template-blog .post-title {
    margin-left: 0px;
    }

    .template-blog .entry-content {
    float: left;
    width:100%;
    }

    Can you put the theme on so I can see the mega menu error? Right now I’m not sure what you mean.

    Hi Chris,

    Thank you so much for this!

    I’ll now be able to go ahead and get the new theme up!

    Much appreciated!

    This fix isn’t working for me for some reason. I’ve cleared me cache a million times but see no effect. I noticed that today when I reopened my files that the line i deleted was added back in again. I deleted it again and am still seeing no effect. Is there any other way of deleting Archive For: ?

    Ok, i figured it out. In archive.php change <?php echo avia_title(false,false,avia_which_archive()); ?> to <div id=”top”><div class=”title_container”><h1><?php single_cat_title(); ?> </h1></div></div>

    <?php echo avia_breadcrumbs(); ?>

    I would prefer a less hacky way if you know of one.

    Hey,

    no thi solution is perfect. I can’t offer a “less invasiv” css solution because the “Archive for…” text string isn’t wrapped into a span, etc.

    Hi there,

    I’m having the same problem with the “Archive For Category” Text in the “Flashlight” theme, but couldn’t fix it.

    I tried this:

    In archive.php change <?php echo avia_title(false,false,avia_which_archive()); ?> to <div id=”top”><div class=”title_container”><h1><?php single_cat_title(); ?> </h1></div></div>

    <?php echo avia_breadcrumbs(); ?>

    But it changed many other things, like put a text below the header “You in here – Archive”, and then it put all the posts centered and in bold big text.

    Please advise to how to remove the “Archive for Category” in the Flashlight theme…

    Thanks!

    Shay
