How to remove the footer in Corona?

Hi,

I would like to know how to remove the footer (only the part containing widgets). The bar with copyright and social links should stay.

Right now, I selected "none" as number of footer columns. But, this doesn't remove the footer completely.

Open up footer.php and remove the php/html code between following two code lines:
