I want to set up a website with different pages and blog like posts in each of the pages. Of course this doesn't include About us, contact page etc. I have tried searching online about how to link "posts" to pages but haven't found a straight forward way to do it. Right now, when I make a new post, it has it's own link and it doesn't allow me to add the post to a page. Is there some coding involved or is there an easy way to take care of this?

it's not easily possible to display posts on pages because WP differentiates between these post types and you can't mix them up, etc. You can use plugins like: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/ (in combination with: http://www.billerickson.net/code/display-posts-shortcode-full-content/ ) to display the full post content or just post excerpts anywhere you like. You can use a shortcode to embed the post content within pages with this plugin.
Looks like the http://www.billerickson.net/code/display-posts-shortcode-full-content/ allows you to know full content on any of the pages. I would really appreciate if you could tell me how to do it. I am a newbie trying to set-up a website, so this would be helpful for now. I will definitely learn more as I go on but this would help me jump start this webpage I am working on.
Also as you mentioned above, do I have to use both http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/display-posts-shortcode/ and the bill erickson code to set this up?
Just to make things clear, what I want is to show complete posts (like they appear when you click on a category or a main page right now) on pages I want.

Yes - you'd need to use both together (code snippet + plugin).
However I've found: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/post-content-shortcodes/ which should to what you want without additional code snippets, etc.

I have one more question for you:
How can I stop a post from appearing in the slideshow in the main page? I want to insert a picture that shows up right before the post, but don't want that picture to appear in the slideshow. For example- in my website http://www.scitechverse.com, I don't want the post titled "Memory stored on 12 atoms!" to appear in the slideshow but want that small picture in front on the post.
Can you please tell me how to do this?
I think the easiest way would be to create a slider specific post category - i.e. call it "Featured". Then select this category as slideshow category (Newscast Options). Afterwards apply this category to all posts which should appear in the slider.
