    Hi,

my client have 3.9.3 WP and 1.0 version of the theme.

What is the best practice for going through updating process?

    1. First taking copy of database in PHP myadmin. Do I need to copy theme files or/and WP from FTP as well?

    2. Then updating WP and then Theme > in this order or other way around? Is theme recommended to be updated manually through ftp or in WP admin?

    > Should all this be done straight to the live site or what is the best/most used way?

I have blocked auto update. But is it better to put theme and WP auto updates on?

Child theme is used, so nothing is edited on the main theme.

If I missed some steps, them please help me out. Do i have to turn the plugins off or something before updating.

If something goes wrong, or doesn’t work, should I then just put the previous version of the theme back or WP as well?

    Hi merjakoriseva!

You can refer to this post and create a testing environment firstly and have a backup of your database using suggested plugin – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/move-from-a-local-installation-to-a-live-server/.
If you are using child theme and not made any changes on parent theme files as you mentioned, updating should go smoothly and should not break anything.
You can refer to this post and update the theme via FTP – http://kriesi.at/documentation/enfold/updating-your-theme-files/

    Regards,
    Yigit
