I am building a website on WAMP, and it will not update the theme. I get the message: “An error occurred…: Could not create directory”. I’ve read that people update manually, but I am new to wamp and wordpress and I don’t have any idea how to manually update. Any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Hey psaw27,

Please add a valid username and API key from themeforest in the theme options. If you already have this info added go to the themes folder inside the wp-content folder and delete the enfold folder. Download a fresh copy from themeforest and add the fresh enfold folder in same location inside the themes folder.

let us know if you have any questions.

    Best regards,
    Vinay

Thank you, Vinay! I did have the API already, so I will delete and add the new wp-content folder. But before I do that, will it affect the work I’ve done already?

    Hi,

You could download the theme from Themeforest and then replace the content of wp-content/themes/enfold with the corresponding content in the downloaded file.

    Best regards,
    Rikard

    Hi Rikard,

Actually, I already did the manual update as instructed by Vinay, and everything works fine. Thanks for the help, though.

    All the best,
    Patty
