Since v2.0.21 NextGen Gallery is pretty stable and you can use it with our themes without major issues. I’d recommend to tweak some settings for the best results.
1) Deactivate the lightbox effect
Our themes use the PrettyPhoto lightbox whereas Nextgen gallery uses fancybox or other scripts. These scripts are actually not necessary and will just slow down your website because the theme already loads a lightbox script by default. To deactivate the NextGen lightbox go to Gallery > Other options and click on the “Lightbox Effects” tab/toogle bar. Select “No Lightbox” from the dropdown field and click on “Show Advanced Settings”. Into the “code” field insert following text
2) NextGen Pro Lightbox
If you bought NextGen Pro you probably want to use the enhanced lightbox which supports ajax comments, social tools, etc.
You can use it with our themes too but you need to deactivate the default PrettyPhoto lightbox for the gallery images. To deactivate the default lightbox go to Gallery > Other options and click on the “Lightbox Effects” tab/toogle bar. Select “NextGEN Pro Lightbox” from the dropdown field and click on “Show Advanced Settings”. Into the “code” field insert following text
class='nextgen_pro_lightbox noLightbox' data-nplmodal-gallery-id='%PRO_LIGHTBOX_GALLERY_ID%'
and replace the default value if necessary. I tested the pro lightbox with Enfold and it worked very well. I strongly recommend to deactivate the debug mode ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Debug ) and the php error log – otherwise you’ll notice some “strict mode” warnings in the lightbox or ajax content which is displayed within the lightbox.
3) Gallery Settings/Templates
You can use all template (free & pro exclusive templates) with our themes. I tested most of them and all worked fine with Enfold. If you need help (css styling, etc.) just post your question here (please use the right theme sub-forum) and we do our best to help you.
