I am wanting to have the four columns on the front page like in the static homepage demo. I was wondering how to use these and if i could get them to cycle my recent post like a side bar widget would? I would also like for them to have a few lines from the post and the ability to click and go the the original post.

Is this done with short codes? if so where do i get them and how do i install them.

If this is something that isn’t possible please let me know and i will figure out something else to use there.

    Hey,

it’s currently not possible to use widgets with the column shortcode. You can create a static frontpage like in the demo – go to settings > Reading and select a static page there (i.e. the page with for columns). The column shortcode can be used like:

    [one_third]
Lorem, ultricies nec, pellentesque eu, pretium quis, sem. Nulla consequat massa quis enim. Donec pede justo, fringilla.
    [/one_third]

    [one_third]
Tenean commodo ligula eget dolor. Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoque penatibus et magnis dis parturients mus.
    [/one_third]

    [one_third last]
Sit amet, consectetuer adipiscing elit. Aenean commodo ligula eget dolor. Aenean massa. Cum sociis natoques.
    [/one_third]

You can use text and html content only but no widgets.
