If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I was checking my pages in different browsers and found that two custom category pages were aligning left in IE instead of center. Here is a link. http://johnsoncountytnchamber.org/mountain-view-exxon/ should be aligned center like all other pages http://johnsoncountytnchamber.org/ (Purchase code hidden if logged out) /.
Is only happening in IE.
Your site is getting put into Quirks mode in IE because of some extra styling before the doctype declaration. You’ll need to move that down further so that it doesn’t cause the issue.
What page or pages exactly is the extra styling before doctype declaration? Sorry if this is stupid question, but I don’t know. Thanks in advance.
I’m not sure what is actually generating it, but if you inspect or view the source of your page you’ll see:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
at the very top. It should be only the !DOCTYPE line with nothing before it. It could be a plugin causing it or if you added it into your header.php yourself I can’t really say for sure.
Thanks so much for the help. That fixed it. I had it before the header call in the archive.php file and in a separate category template as well.
