I have a standardized image that I use in my Testimonials section. You can see it on my homepage http://50.87.248.159/~dominjd2/

A few times now, these spirals appear pale and small. See screen shot

If I refresh, it works and shows up like in this screen shot.

Any ideas why? The original image is 200 x 200 pixels.
    Thanks.

    Hi Dominique!

I checked your website on Safari, Firefox and Chrome and image loads and shows up fine on my end. Which browser and operating system are you using?

It doesn’t happen every time, but it happened to the Testimonial Box on both the Home page and Shop Page a couple of times over the past few days. I’m using Mac OSX 10.9.5 with Firefox (updated).

    Hi!

I checked your website on Firefox 37.0.1 on OS X 10.10 but still could not reproduce the issue – http://i.imgur.com/Ag6Qfnl.png
Are you using any browser add-ons? If you are, please try disabling them all and check if that helps.

    Regards,
    Yigit

No browser add-ons. As I said, it doesn’t happen every time. Is it possible that the screen just freezes before fully uploading? That may not be a theme issue. Is that possible – would they then appear smaller and pale like in my screen shot?

    Hey!

There is a delay but the images load eventually. I think it’s because the images on the page are quite heavy. You need to optimize them. These are the list of things you can do to improve page load:

    1. Optimize all images with AI/Photoshop before uploading to server ‘save as web safe’ jpg.
    2. Once all images are on the website optimize with EWWW Optimizer plugin twice 1hr 10mins apart.
    3. Install WP-Smushit, run once to remove jpeg extra data, then uninstall.
    4. Use BWP minify plugin to minify scripts and stylesheets.
    5. Install W3 Total Cache plugin, select all recommended settings.
    6. Logout your website, visit every page at least once to create super cache files.
    7. Join Cloudflare setup your website on their CDN, Choose options: Full CDN Optimisation save then activate purge files. once done log out.
    8. Have a cup of coffee.
    9. Visit your site after 20 minutes or so.
    10. Don’t forget to smile.

    Cheers!

Wow… a lot of steps before smiling. I’m new to plugins… to a lot of this – I’ll admit, that’s intimidating. I did optimize for websites #1 for the Homepage and shop, but the thousands of photos in the blog are not. That’s not where the problem was though.

I’ll put this on my list for when some of the more major issues are taken care of and I feel more confident technologically speaking.

    Thanks.
