    Hello,

    I started a new portfolio entry but the portfolio box appears to be a little to high compared to the other portfolio entries.
    Is a problem of size with my new image ? Do I have to crop it ?
    It is strange because I have plenty of other portfolio entries with many different sizes and it is the first time it appears.

    The portfolio entry is the one named “vœux 2013″ on my frontpage at

    Thanks for your help

    Hi mallokw!

    It depends on the image proportion maybe the image you uploaded is taller than any other images you uploaded before. You can add this on your custom.css or Quick CSS to specify max-height for portfolio thumbnails.

    .slideshow.fade_slider li a img, .slideshow.fade_slider {
    max-height: 172px;
    }

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Hello Ismael,

    Thanks for your help and quick answer but there is still a problem :
    Your css has fixed the thumbnail alignment problem but now when you click on thumbnails to see images inside the container, all images are fixed and constrainted to 172px which is terrible. Maybe I have to add specification in the css. Could you help again?

    Here is the screen capture because I do not leave the css because my site is active and I don’t want anybody can see this problem.

    Hello!

    First use this plugin and regenerate all of your images thumbnails to make sure they are all using the same image as directed by the theme: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Once that is done, see if it helps the image sizing. If not, you can crop the image to more appropriate proportions so that it resizes in the height to width ratio you want.

    Best regards,
    Devin

    Hello,

    I am sorry but it does not work at all. I regenerate thumbnails and nothing changed. Then I tried to crop images (in the wordpress backoffice) and it is not working either. I really do not understand why the portfolio boxes can accept different heights whereas the Angular theme portfolio layout is based on a fixed height in portfolios entries.
    Here is the linked screen capture to see the problem :

    Hi!

    My bad. Please use this instead.

    .isotope .post-entry.flex_column .slideshow.fade_slider li a img, .isotope .post-entry.flex_column .slideshow.fade_slider {
    max-height: 172px;
    }

    Regards,
    Ismael

    Hello Ismael,

    Thanks for your return on this matter but it seems to me that the css is not completely appropriate :
    - It is true that it defines a max height for thumbnails but by doing this it is compressing the image rather than cropping the image at the right size
    - It creates a white space between the first and second row that is not intended

    Could you help to fix that ?
    Thanks a lot again.

    Hello!

    Yes the issue is caused by the thumbnail size. The image resolution of http://www.mallorykwiat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/voeux2013_2.jpg is just 421x595px and other images are bigger (i.e. http://www.mallorykwiat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/carte_cat_1.jpg 650px x 992px). WordPress won’t re-size http://www.mallorykwiat.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/voeux2013_2.jpg because the thumbnail width for portfolio images – which is defined in functions.php

    $avia_config['imgSize']['portfolio'] 		 	= array('width'=>465, 'height'=>346);						// images for portfolio entries (2,3,4 column)

    is bigger than the image width 465px vs 421px. You’ve two options:

    1) Upload a bigger version of the image with a width of i.e. 470px. Afterwards WP will re-size & crop the image.
    2) Change the thumbnail size in functions.php from 465 to 420 and regenerate the thumbnails with: http://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/

    Personally I’d recommend option 1).

    Regards,
    Peter
