anyone out there, who can confirm and/or solve this?
The blogpost below uses an image galerie.
After updateing to w3total cache 0.9.4, clicking on the images does not open the lightbox anymore, but opens the image in a new window. I did not change anything in the config of the galerie itself.
Since w3total cache is quite a complex plugin I did not dare to deactivate it for further testing…
(I am using the Amazon CDN)

3 possible problems i’ve seen :
1) There is no reference to lightbox on your links ( hence it’s not working when you click the images ), try to save the option to use lightbox again.
2) GET http://cdnhebammenblog.s3.amazonaws.com/wp-includes/js/mediaelement/controls.svg 403 (Forbidden) , Try disabling this pluging ( Mediaelemnts ) i belive it’s called ( guessing since there is not more information about this on your previous post ).
3) Disable W3 cache/ enable it again afterwards.

thanks for your support!
1) There (galerie options) is no lightbox option anymore! It is just not there! I can choose:
2) I could not identify such plugin or option.
3) Did not help
PS: Currently, there are (only) 3 dropins (advanced-cache.php, db.php, and object-cache.php) I think there used to be 4 recently, but I am not quite sure about that. Thought I’d mention it…)April 9, 2014 at 7:51 am #249136
I just had access (gain) to an old version (in my developer surrounding) of my installation. There is no light box option, when editing the galerie. But it uses the lightbox anyways, when selecting media file as an option.
Is there another place in the theme option to activate or deactivate the lightbox? I searched for it, but could not find a thing!

I’m not sure why it doesn’t work with the latest version of w3tc but you can try to insert the code from here: http://www.wprecipes.com/how-to-automatically-add-rellightbox-to-all-images-embedded-in-a-post into the theme functions.php file. It should add the lightbox class to all gallery images.

thanks! I did not try this solution, yet, because I think this will add a rel=lighbox to ALL images in a post. And I just don’t want that :)
Isn’t there supposed to be an option in the galerie config itself where I can toggle this on and off? Like in the featured media section?
Any other idea how I can solve this? I guess a lot of theme-users with w3total cache must have this problem, too…

Unfortunately, that is not possible with the gallery yet. We can add the lightbox function Dude suggested then disable the lightbox or link on the post featured image. Please let us know if the function works for you.

it worked the way it’s expected to work:
Featured images are uneffected, since I already deactivated the lb there
Single images work with lb now, but thats not what I needed, because I work with galeries.
The question still is: Why did it work before the w3total cache update, and without that functionsnippet.
The problem is diskussed on the web (googled it) but I did not find a solution or explanation.
Still need hep! ;-(

Maybe the new w3total cache update manipulates the order of the scripts somehow or even manipulates the content. I recommend to contact the plugin author because I can’t provide an explanation…
