Just purchased Sentence. I am trying to figure out how to produce a homepage that has an image gallery up top plus the Blog underneath. How do I do this? Thanks.

You can try to combine a "Post/Page Content" element and a "Blog" element. Then add a gallery shortcode ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Gallery_Shortcode ) to the page/post content and attach some images to the page/post.
