    Hi everyone

I tired to find a solution for my problem via search, but couldn’t find one sadly.

If I add pictures in Medium size (default – 300×285) everything is fine.

If I want to use a bigger picture at this position and I add (for example) an Portfolio (495×400) I do get a cutoff on top & bottom of the pic.

Same for hotspot-picture and other elements… what’s the correct way to increase the displayed picture size for certain pictures/areas?

    Medium:

    Portfolio:

    thanks in advance

    Hey TOM,
If you can provide a url to the image you’re having trouble with I can help adjust it :)

    Best regards,
    Mike

Thanks but I don’t think this solves my problem adequatly.

From my understanding this would change all sizes in every place, but I’d need the size x on Page x and the size y on page y.

If I change the functions.php, everywhere the picture would get bigger… I just need it bigger ob some sites/in some areas.

Why isn’t it working like it makes most sense…. instead of using the medium picture, you choose another size (like portfolio) and the picture has rhe size of a portfolio-pic, wihout being cropped?
(I’m also not sure, if this solution you suggested will make some problems with updates in the future?)

Please correct me if my thinking is wrong.

Any idea for my problem for individual pictures/areas?

    Hi,

Install the following plugin then go the Settings > Media panel. Look for the “portfolio” thumbnail and set the “cropping” parameter to “No”. Update then regenerate the thumbnails afterwards.

    worked, thanks

I hope the plugin doesn’t attract issues when upgrading wordpress

    Hey!

There should be no issue on update as long as the add_image_size function stays the same.

    Regards,
    Ismael
