I’m new to the theme and am trying to get the slider on the homepage to look right. The images are small and I can’t figure out how to resize them. I’m interested in reproducing the effect on this site (http://uneekgrafix.com/bands/) or something similar.
Is there a place to look in the CSS code or in a template file to make changes to the slider?
My site is http://lindsay-hunt.com
as far as I can see you selected thumbnail images as slider images. I.e. this image: http://lindsay-hunt.com/wp-content/themes/levitation/timthumb.php?src=uploads/2011/03/IMG_5270-300×199.jpg&w=940&h=390&zc=1 has a resolution of 300×199. Make sure to select the fullsize image in the featured image/media window. Upscaling an image from 300px to 940px won’t look good.
Thanks! Is there a way populate the slider with images, but not have the image posts appear in the blog section? For example, I have 3 images that I would like to appear in the slider, but I don’t necessarily want to write a post about them that will be included in the blog. Is there a way to hide these posts in the blog?
Under Levitation Options > Mainpage Options you’ll find an option called “Levitation Starting Page Image Slider”. There you can set categories which should be used for the slider. Under Blog Options you can exclude this/these categories and it/they won’t display in your blog anymore.
