Read more button in post not working right

   HI there,

   In the Blog the posts all show the full textby default. When using the <!--more--> button the text is cut but there is no 'Read more' link showing up.
   The only way to read the full post is to click the Title.

   How do I get a 'Read more' link???

   Hi,

   Kindly go to: wp-content\themes\flashlight\includes\loop-index.php and find this line of code:
   the_excerpt();
   and replace it with this:
   

   //the_excerpt();
   the_content(__('Read more  →','avia_framework'));

   save it then try to check again. Hope this helps. :)

   Thanks. That does work. I think I prefer the Excerpt though because all my share buttons ( which are placed below posts) now show up on the first page as well.

   Hi Buitenruimte,

   If you wanted to you could hide the share buttons using CSS. You would just need to use the name of the DIV plus the class name "template-blog-overview" in order to make the declaration work in your custom.css or Quick CSS.

   Example:
   .template-blog-overview .share { display:none; }

   I came looking for this problem / fix as well, On the blog page after the initial text it is cut of with [...]

   I would like to replace the [...] with Read More linked to the article.

   I tried the above hack but it reproduced the article twice on my blog overview page so its a no go.

   As it is on the blog page the only way to read a full blog post is by clicking the blog title. Is there a way to add Read More after the blog initial text ?

   I installed a plugin called "Post Teaser" and it did what I wanted to achieve, it basicly ads a "Read More" to the bottom of the blog preview post.

   Spoke to soon, the Post Teaser also destroyed the portfolio page so it had to go

   Hi,

   @Buitenruimte: Can you set the share buttons to show only on single posts? so it doesn't show up in unnecessary places. For the Read More, try to check this link: http://codex.wordpress.org/Customizing_the_Read_More

    As of now, I can't think of other solution for it, you might want to try another plugin with the same functionality, which might not cause any issue.

    Hi, is it possible to use for the 'Read-More' the same font-size like the other text? Or better: Is it possible to show instead of the [...] a link 'Read more'?

    Yes in includes/loop-index.php replace:

    if(is_search() || avia_is_overview())
    				{
    					the_excerpt();
    				}
    				else
    				{
    					the_content(__('Read more  →','avia_framework'));
    				}

    with:

    the_content(__('Read more  →','avia_framework'));

    and use the more quicktag to split the content into an excerpt/full version.
