Hi, I am trying to figure out how to do the following here: http://www.prayerthatheals.org/blog/
1. Add subtopics to the “Forums” menu in the right sidebar (not primary menu). Not sure if this is in the widget which is set as follows:
(bbPress) Forums List: Forums
Parent Forum ID:
“0” to show only root – “any” to show all
Getting this to work would make navigation much easier, to have another option besides the primary menu.
Thanks in advance for any help!January 29, 2014 at 10:04 am #216278
Yes, I think they’re using the “Forum List” widget. However maybe you must set a different id/setting in the “Parent Forum ID” field. Try 0 and “any”. If both don’t work for you insert the ids of your parent forum(s) and separate them with a comma.

Dude, but how do you find the parent ID on BBPress? The Author Information ID for all topics is set to “1.” This can’t be the same as Parent Forum ID. The other options don’t work.
Also, let me clarify something. There were sub-forums under each forum which was causing people to have to click a link on another page before getting to the topic. I deleted all of the sub-forums and added the info as topics on the main forum. Changing them solved a problem of having to click on an extra link within the forum to get to a subtopic. Has this created another problem?
We have found no information online to answer these questions.
We are looking for another widget to solve this problem, but haven’t found one yet. Thanks for your assistance, this is a priority as we are presenting this Website to a large group on Saturday.
