I would like to include an Apple Touch icon for my site. I have two questions.

One, is this a good location for the icon? It is the same folder my uploaded favicon is in: http://mansfieldfirstassembly.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/apple-touch-icon-144-precomposed.png

Two, what file do I need to include this code in the head?: <link rel=”apple-touch-icon” href=”http://mansfieldfirstassembly.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/apple-touch-icon-144-precomposed.png” /> I tried just uploading the icon to the above mentioned folder, but when I refresh my site and go to save it as an icon on my iPad it does not show up. So I am pretty sure I need to insert this code on the index page, just not sure which one!

    Thanks

    Hey Cait!

You can insert a favicon on Incarnation > Theme Options > Favicon. Upload the favicon image.

    Best regards,

Hi Ismael, I already have inserted a favicon through the theme options on WordPress. I want to insert an Apple Touch icon. It is the icon that shows up when you save my website as a link on apple devices such as an iPad or iPhone.

I need to insert this code on the home page but I am just not sure which page to do it on, and if it is properly formatted if it needs to go in a php file. I am not as familiar with php as I am html. On an html site I would insert it in the <head> of index.html. <link rel=”apple-touch-icon” href=”http://mansfieldfirstassembly.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/12/apple-touch-icon-144-precomposed.png” />

    Hey!

Edit header.php, find this code on line 41:

<!-- add feeds, pingback and stuff-->

    Add the code below.

    Regards,
    Ismael
