If you have troubles since the update to WordPress 4.5 please read this post before opening a new thread.
I have been using the “Urban Church” theme from Church Themes and decided to install “Incarnation” (beautiful by the way). I’m having one of two issues with the sermons in that they all vanished. Now, I’ve reactivated the old theme and all is well so I know that they are there, they just don’t who up in any page (I get a 404 error).
My website is http://calvarysoton.co.uk/ and you’ll notice that the sermons are grouped by /series/ . However, in Incarnation they seem to be grouped by /sermon-category/ . What I THINK i need to do is change this somewhere but I don’t know where to look.
Could someone help me please?
The sermons in Incarnation are a custom post type. Unless the previous theme has the same post type name then they won’t still be there when you activate the new theme.
thanks for your speedy reply. What should the post type be (I think I might be able to change it in the previous theme).
The post type is ‘sermons’. You can see the full details of it in includes>admin>register-sermons.php .
Thanks Devin ….. As the complete newbie that I am … what is the fix? There must be a way for me to take the custom post type from the old theme and change it to match the new one?
