We are about to take our site live after all of your amazing help! I have been testing on different browsers while IE handles most of the site fine, it displays the portfolio page items a bit wonky--the top two rows have a large gap. I am using the latest version of IE.

For some reason the first item in that portfolio is getting put into its own container but only in IE9 (IE8 for example has no issues).
First try disabling any active plugins you have running, then view the page in IE. Make sure to refresh your browser 2-3 times and close it completely and open the page again. Just to make sure you aren't viewing a cached version of the page.
Additionally, you can try to re-build that portfolio section in case for some reason its settings were somehow corrupted. It looks like that is one made in the Theme Options>Portfolio. While there, make sure you don't have any portfolio sections that aren't assigned to a specific page. If you do, just hit the red X to remove them and save all changes.

This is unrelated, so I can put it into a new thread if you like, but at some point when I first started this process I used custom .css to hide the related entries and social media buttons on the portfolio-item pages. I would like those things to stay hidden, but I would like the title of the item to be displayed. What is the .css I would use to do this?

And back to the original Internet Explorer issue. On Version 9, with the exception of the portfolio issue i describe above, everything looks okay. But in Internet Explorer version 8, a lot of things in the site are a complete mess. Dropdown menu buttons don't work, etc. Is there anyway to make the site at least somewhat more functional for people using an older version of IE? I mean, I don't think anyone should be using an older version of IE, but people do.

Thank you for your response. Yes, the titles do display in Ajax. I'm referring to the permalink page for each item, with the url that includes "permalink-item."

You have a number of possible reasons why its hidden.
Please try adding this
#top.single-portfolio .post-meta-infos{display:visible !important;}
div.title_container{display:visible !important;}
.portfolio_title_meta .portfolio-title{display:visible !important;}I am not sure if any of them or all will do it. But the title and link are in the code, and are just being hidden. Not easy to spot where
