    Based on the demo page of the Velvet Theme I’ve created a design for a client. Now I wonder if it is possible to alter the header to include this graphic at the top above the navigation, and also a text field like I’ve suggested there?

    Could you please have a look at my sketch here: http://www.bolder.no/kunder/pastabakeriet/

    Of course thats possible, but only with some modifications. If you know enough html and css to modify the current menu to a default dropdown menu, like you are suggesting then you only need to do that, as well as adding a text field to the header.php file for the additional information.

    It will take some tweaking but is not really a big deal :)

    I think I will go with the style already implemented in the theme, but I would like to include an image above the header/logo area, that will stick to the browsers top edge. It’s an image that will be as wide as the boxed layout, and just around 20px in height, as shown in that sketch I linked to above here.

    Could you please help me with a CSS code to achieve that?

    I think the easiest solution is to add your stripe as background to the header area. Use following code in css/custom.css:

    #header {
    background: url("../images/skin-minimal/stripe.png") no-repeat transparent;

    and adjust the path if necessary. Maybe you need to add a margin to the menu container – this will push it down a bit.

    #header .container {
    padding: 60px 0 40px;

    You can adjust the 60px value if required.

    Yes, perfect!

    Hi thoddi,

    I’m glad Dude’s solution worked for you!
