I just bought this theme but I wasn’t able to install it.

When trying to install I get these errors,

    Unpacking the package…

    Installing the theme…

    Theme installed successfully.

Warning: fopen(/home1/gravescr/public_html/test/wp-content/themes/avisio-business-and-portfolio/style.css) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home1/gravescr/public_html/test/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4165

Warning: fread(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home1/gravescr/public_html/test/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4168

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home1/gravescr/public_html/test/wp-includes/functions.php on line 4171

When I return to the themes page it says this,

    Broken Themes

The following themes are installed but incomplete. Themes must have a stylesheet and a template.

    Name Description

    avisio-business-and-portfolio Stylesheet is missing.

I’m using wordpress 3.0.1 and my host is bluehost.

You need to unzip the Themeforest package first. You’ll find another .zip file in the unpacked content. This zip file is only called “Avisio”. You uploaded the whole package from Themeforest, including the psd files and the documentation. WordPress searches for style.css but can’t find it in the zip you uploaded – that’s because you just need to upload avisio.zip which is part of “avisio-wordpress-theme-source.zip”.

PS: I would recommend that you upload the themefiles via ftp. (unpack avisio.zip and upload the unpacked folder via ftp (i.e. filezilla)

Thank you for your quick reply and your patients, I’m brand new to wordpress.

I also just wanted to let you know that this support forum was a major selling point for me.

Hi, just posting an update from my experience. I had this same exact problem as well.

I unzipped the “newscast-4-in-1-wordpress-magazine-and-blog.zip” file. I could not find the “Avisio” file. However, I did find a “newscast.zip” file. When I looked inside, it had the CSS stylesheet and everything else.

Back to my WordPress Dashboard. Here’s what I did: Appearance > Themes > Install Themes > Upload > Browse > Selected the “newscast.zip” file > hit Install now. Success! Hope this helps someone else.

I am new to WordPress as well. This is my first time setting up a WordPress site and buying a premium theme.

Many thanks to Kriesi, Dude, and the rest of the team for a great-looking theme. Like Gravescreati said above, this helpful support forum was what made me decide to buy your theme. Please keep up the excellent work!

Sure I’ll be coming back with more questions.

    Hey,

thanks for your compliments and your feedback :)

Just a small side note. We have several forums here – this thread was posted in the “Avisio” forum (the breadcrumb menu at the top shows you to which forums the threads belong to) – that’s why I wrote “Avisio.zip instead of Newscast.zip :)

    Hey,

the above information from Marcuss is exactly what I was needing, however when I do go to install the right zip file now I get an error because it’s trying to upload it to an existing directory, but i can’t find anywhere where i can delete the installed theme that isn’t working properly.

    Hey,

you need to use a ftp client like filezilla to delete the folder. Navigate to wp-content/themes folder and delete the leftover of the previous Newscast installation.
