    Hi,

    Thanks for a great support.

I’ve got a problem. I use a qtranslate function on my website and it works great, but whenever I click on a portfolio item the language resets to the default language – it only happens with portfolio items. How do I get it to remember the language?

    Have a look:

    Hope you can help me.

    Thanks.

    Hi!

I’m sorry but we’re not familiar with qtranslate and I’m not sure why it’s not working. Maybe ask the plugin author for help.

    Best regards,

    Peter

hmm but as it only happens when I click on a portfolio item I thought it was the way the portfolio was setup…

I mean is the link setup to the portfolio item different from the link to a normal page or blogpost?

Yes, portfolio entries are custom post types: http://codex.wordpress.org/Post_Types and “Blog posts” are “standard” posts. Custom post types are different and often require “special handling” like different queries, different conditional checks, etc.

Based on previous threads I know that qtranslate seems to be a bit buggy when it comes to custom post types but I didn’t dig into the code to find the culprit. I’m not sure if it’s a plugin bug or if qtranslate requires special code (or checks) to work with custom post types and taxonomies/terms.
