    Hi,

No matter what I do I cannot get my homepage to be a static separate page from my latest blog post. I have changed the settings in the Settings – Reading – section to display my static page as homepage and my blog as the blog page. I have changed it inside the Enfold Theme Settings – and Appearance – Customize section and still nothing.

I deleted the post that was linking to the homepage and re-created it, and the same thing happens (you click on the blog post in the blog page and it goes right to the homepage). I just recently deleted the post completely and the next blog post underneath it now takes its place.

Under Yoast SEO – it is also pulling in the content from the blog and will not let me re-title or add meta data that’s related to my homepage. Once I hit update it just fills in each box with the title and meta data from the latest post.

I’m new to this whole WordPress experience and this may be a simple fix.

Hope you guys can fix this! This is truly and awesome theme : )

    Thanks

    Hey alwaysg2!

Looks like you may have figured things out as the homepage is showing as a static page with content setup for your site.

    Regards,

    Hi Devin,

I was able to get the homepage to show the title and meta-data through the Yoast SEO Plugin, but if I update the page the title and meta data get updated to the post bellow!

The current blog post that all this is attached to is:
    Holiday Break: Happy Holidays!

I can’t give you a direct link because the page itself goes right to my homepage. The last blog entry I deleted did the same thing.

It looks like my homepage (maybe the header.php) is linking to a certain blog post (Latest News, Updates, etc). Or something is forwarding blog posts to my static homepage.

I’ve spent countless hours trying to figure this out and I can’t come up with anything.

In summary. The Holiday Break: Happy Holidays! Blog post when clicked goes right to my homepage. My homepage’s meta-data and title shows the the data from the blog post. I can change this through SEO Yoast (temporarily), but the second I update my homepage it changes my title and meta data to the title and meta data of the blog post.

The current fix that I have up is so that google doesn’t rank my page and add the data from this blog post into my homepage’s search results (As this would destroy my computer companies page rank!).

I have a photography wordpress website and my static page does not do this, so I’m thinking it has to do with the settings of this theme.

Thanks for the replay, hopefully we can get this fixed.

I’ve never heard of that happening before so my guess is there is some odd setup somewhere.

The typical setup is that you have the WordPress settings to the latest blog option and then you set the home page and blog pages from the Theme Options.

Then you can use Yoasts fields to set the page title and meta data as needed.

If you are still having issues deactivate all other plugins that are active to make sure there are no other conflicts.

    Hi,
Apparently there was a bug found on the Yoast SEO plugin causing that issue. It was fixed today on the newest update. https://wordpress.org/plugins/wordpress-seo/changelog/

Update the Yoast plugin to the newest (v 1.6) update and this issue will go away.
