Hi, I’m getting some strange page renderings for Amplify. The left side-bar on blog posts is showing at the bottom of the page, instead of the on the left hand side. This effect only occurs when a user is not logged in — when logged in, the side-bar shows properly.
Any thoughts on a fix?
I don’t have access to the code for this theme, but it looks like your problem is in single.php. Find the line that says
<!-- end content_border -->
And before it put a </div> to close off the div with a class content_border. Basically you want to make sure that the sidebar is not nested beneath the content_border div.
Hey Noah, there was a </div> tag there but I experimented with adding another and removing altogether, but adding an extra </div> fixed the layout when not logged in, but broke it (side-bar nested to bottom) when logged in (reverse the problem).
I’m not sure what to try next. Any thought?
I’m not sure what changes you’ve made to the template files, and officially we can only support the theme “out the box”, i.e. getting setup as per the demo.
I would recommend uploading the theme files again from the downloaded ZIP file which will fix the immediate problem, and then make you changes one by one testing in various browsers to make sure there are no problems before continuing.
