excuse me for the delayed response.
In your functions.php you can add this to the bottom:
function custom_excerpt_length( $length ) {
return 30;
}
add_filter( 'excerpt_length', 'custom_excerpt_length', 999 );the number 30 should resemble the number of words to be put in your excerpt. Be sure you don't have a custom excerpt set (this can be done when creating a post or page => at the bottom of the editor), because the code I'm giving you gets overwritten by the custom excerpt.
